Housing Counseling Mental Health Webinar
May 4, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
This webinar will focus on gaining a greater understanding of mental health and its impact on overall well-being. It will also discuss the impact of COVID-19 on people with mental health challenges. Housing Counselors will learn how to enhance existing observational and reflective listening skills to enable them to confidently have conversations around the topic of mental health and COVID-19. You will gain a greater awareness of the appropriate interventions when working with clients with potential mental health challenges. The webinar will review self-care strategies to prevent Housing Counselors from experiencing overwhelm, burn out, and compassion fatigue.
You Will Learn:
- Identify the impact of stress and anxiety
- Learn the impact of COVID-19 on the workforce
- Learn how to recognize and respond when your client is in crisis.
- Understand the mindset shifts that Housing Counselors must practice when working with clients with MH challenges.
