The mission of the North Carolina Housing Coalition is to lead a movement to ensure that every North Carolinian has a home in which to live with dignity and opportunity. The Coalition meets its mission by convening, resourcing, and mobilizing affordable housing professionals, communities impacted by a lack of affordability, and the broader public to pursue policies at the local, state, and federal levels that improve the supply, quality, and access of affordable housing in North Carolina.
Convening
The Coalition seeks to foster connections between those working for just and affordable housing around the state to improve the quality and increase the impact of their work. One of the many ways that we do this is through our Bringing it Home and Housing Works conferences.
Resourcing
The Coalition provides relevant research, data, and training on housing needs and solutions to stakeholders across the state critical to passing and implementing policy changes with the greatest impact. The Coalition also runs The Association of Housing Counselors and serves as a regional intermediary for 19 housing counseling agencies across the Carolinas.
Mobilizing
The Coalition works to mobilize its members and their networks to advocate at all levels of government for more just and affordable housing. To become part of the movement, sign up for Housing Matters.
