2027 Legislative Agenda Setting Process
The 2027-2028 legislative agenda was not developed alone. This agenda is the combined result  of 70+ responses and conversations and the insights and expertise of a broad stakeholder group that served as our steering committee. The survey responses and conversations across the state revealed that three areas are viewed as high priority areas for North Carolinians: Funding, Land Use & Development, and Protections for Homeowners & Renters. The committee took these responses and core themes into consideration as the 2027-2028 agenda was developed. The committee itself had over 30 people from across the housing ecosystem and the state of North Carolina. They met five times and engaged with staff, the survey responses, and each other over the course of 3.5 months. The resulting policy agenda shows how responsive and diverse the responses and the committee members were, and the Coalition is both proud, and thankful, to all those that contributed.
