On Wednesday, April 5, Representative George Holding (R-NC) signed on as a co-sponsor to HR 1661 – The Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act of 2017. This is excellent news, as he sits on the House Ways and Means Committee to which the bill was assigned. Rep. Holding joins 26 co-sponsors including North Carolina freshman Representative Ted Budd (R-NC), who was the first North Carolinian to sign on March 29.
The North Carolina Housing Coalition (NCHC) organized a meeting with Rep. Holding at his Raleigh office on Friday, March 31 to request his support of HR 1661 and to express concern about proposed budget cuts. The meeting was attended by Samuel Gunter, Dana Boole, Lucius Jones, Gregg Warren, Scott Farmer and Will Parry-Hill and included input from Tim Morgan and Mark Shelburne. NCHC’s Director of Policy and Advocacy met with Rep. Budd’s staff in Washington, D.C. on March 9.
