  • House: Rep. Tim Moore will likely remain as Speaker; Rep. Robert Reives will likely be the minority leader
  • Senate: Sen. Phil Berger will likely remain as Senate President Pro Tempore
    • Majority leader: Sen. Kathy Harrington (1st female majority leader in the NCGA) 
    • Minority leader: Sen. Dan Blue 
  • Long Legislative Session starts on January 13, 2021

We’re suing top NC court officials to demand compliance with CDC eviction moratorium, Governor’s order

CARES Act Spending Deadline Approaching

  • States have until December 30th to spend CARES Act resources or else must return the funds. State exploring pooling NC’s unused money into programs such as HOPE that would better be able to spend money quickly
  • NC AG Stein among Group of AGs push[ing] for CARES Act deadline extension
