This course was created to make sure the counselor and housing agency are in full compliance with HUD and National Industry Standards for rental counseling. The participant will learn the best practices, tools and resources necessary to conduct an efficient and effective virtual or in-person rental counseling session. The course will include an activity designed to help them create a strategy to assist our communities post-COVID-19 rental moratorium. The class will be interactive and engaging wrapping up with everyone participating in a mock session. Therefore, all participants should be prepared to have their cameras and microphones on.

Learning Objectives:
1. Effectively use tools for virtual counseling and in-person sessions.
2. Identify national and local COVID-19 resources to assist clients post rental moratorium.
3. Conduct a HUD compliant rental counseling session from the intake to conducting a lease review and wrapping up with assisting clients through the eviction process.
