Lawmakers in the NC House released a budget proposal on Wednesday evening. Key housing appropriations are listed in the table below in a side-by-side comparison with the Governor’s budget proposal.
Harmful language excluded from Budget
Through the last two legislative sessions – we had concerns about language added to the 2021 appropriations bill that would have critically interfered with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency’s (NCHFA) ability to effectively finance affordable housing real estate development. These provisions are NOT in this budget draft.
